Art Materials

We aim to ensure that your order is delivered to you within 5 working days of receiving payment. If we anticipate delivery taking longer we will usually inform you by email or telephone (please note we do not dispatch orders at weekends, Bank Holidays or over the Christmas Holidays). Delivery of art supplies in the U.K under 2kg are usually made by Royal Mail and over 2kg by courier which will usually require a signature on delivery.

For international deliveries INCLUDING deliveries outside of UK Mainland our shipping charge is based on the total weight of your order and will be displayed on your order summary before you are asked to pay.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Please ensure you select the correct shipping option based on your geographical location. Orders placed with the wrong shipping option selected may be rejected and subject to a 5.00 surcharge.

As part of our commitment to helping artists improve their abilities shipping is free on all tuition dvds. This applies to all our customers worldwide.

Returns & Exchanges
Refunds & Returns Policy

Artist materials or tuition aids such as dvds purchased through The Watercolour online store may be returned for any reason within 14 days for a full refund provided they are in resaleable condition.

IMPORTANT: You must inform us prior to returning your item/s of your intention to return either by letter or email to and this must be done within 7 days of receipt of your order. (Please Note - You are responsible for the cost and arrangement of return shipping and this will not be reimbursed unless the goods are faulty or by prior agreement.)

In the case of artwork after your seven day approval period has elapsed any future claims due to undiscovered faults, hidden defects or questions of authenticity lie solely between you and the artist. Within this time artwork must be returned directly to the artist at your own cost in the same condition as received. Any artwork that has been produced to your specifications or that has been personalised in any way cannot be returned. Once again please inform us first of any intended return by emailing this will enable us to ensure a high standard of service is provided to our customers at all times.

General terms of Sale

The following conditions apply to the sale of any works of art or art materials purchased through the Watercolour website. The Watercolour accept no responsibility for any sales undertaken directly between the artist and buyer.

1. Images

1.1 Images displayed on The Watercolour are for representational purposes only. Although every care has been taken to ensure that the images displayed provide an accurate representation of the artwork The Watercolour will accept no responsibility for differences between the website images and the actual artworks/materials.

2. Payment

2.1 Payment for any purchases made through The Watercolour shall be made in UK Pounds Sterling via the secure payment system provided.

3. Artwork Delivery and Insurance

3.1 All artwork is shipped directly from the artist to the buyer. The Watercolour accepts no responsibility for delivery services and the artist is responsible for insurance of their artwork during delivery to you. We aim where possible to ensure that artwork ordered through the site is delivered to you within 7 days of receipt of your order with the exception of commissioned artwork.

5. Artwork/Online tutorials and Copyright

5.1 The Artist warrants that he/she created and possesses unencumbered title to all artwork displayed under their name on The Watercolour Title to the artwork will only transfer to you upon possession.

5.2 Unless otherwise stated artworks are originals executed by the named artist and are certified to be free from all defects due to faulty craftsmanship or faulty materials for a period of at least twelve months from the date of purchase.

5.3 Should flaws appear within this period of time due to such causes the artwork shall be subject to repair or replacement at the option of the artist. However the artist cannot be responsible for fading, cracking and other damage caused by improvident exposure to sunlight, water and weather.

5.4 The artist reserves all rights protected under English copyright legislation in all artwork/work purchased by you. The sale of any artwork does not include the sale of rights to reproduction in any form unless specifically granted by the artist in writing.

5.5 All intellectual property contained on the website including text, graphics, the selection and arrangement thereof, and all software compilations, underlying source code, software and all other materials on this website are to remain the property of or are licensed to The Watercolour

5.6 The Watercolour has written permission by the artist to use and display images of their artwork for the purposes of advertisement for sale. Copying, saving or otherwise reproducing these images for any other purpose is strictly prohibited.

5.7 The copyright for online tutorials displayed or sold by The Watercolour will remain the intellectual property of the named artist. Any attempt to copy, save, change or redistribute any such publication without express written consent of the artist is strictly prohibited.

6. The Watercolour relationship to Gallery Artists

6.1 The Watercolour's relationship with the artist is as advertiser for the purpose of selling artwork or publications consigned to The Watercolour website.

6.2 The Watercolour reserves the right to refuse service to anyone at any time.

7. Transactions

7.1 The Watercolour operates on a first-come basis. In the event that two or more customers have interest in the same item/items determination of which customer came first will be determined by the time and date of the order.

8. Dispute Resolution

8.1 If any dispute should arise between you and The Watercolour Artist you agree to settle to attempt to settle by negotiation. A party may not serve an ADR notice or commence court proceeding/an arbitration until 21 days after it has made a written offer to the other party(ies) to negotiate a settlement to the dispute.

9. Governing law

9.1 The contract will be deemed to be formed in England and shall be interpreted, construed and enforced in all respects in accordance with the laws of England. You agree to irrevocably submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts.

10. Notice

The Watercolour reserves the right to revise the Terms and Conditions of Sale. Revisions will be dated and supersede previous Terms and Conditions of Sale.
