Nabeel Jamil was born in 1993 in Bradford, England and at two weeks of age he and his family emigrated to the United Arab Emirates. They resided in Abu Dhabi and at the age of 4 he began to draw and paint. Nabeel's paintings have been renowned for their realism and exceptional attention to detail. At the tender age of 5 his drawings won the first prize in a national competition in the UAE. Nabeel and his family returned to England at the age of six where he attended Bradford Grammar School. He studied art in the same studio and under the same teachers as David Hockney. He has continued to show exceptional skill in his art work and as a result of this, he was been awarded the prestigious Henry Maufe Art prize on five occasions. Nabeel was diagnosed with Juvenile Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus in 2006, which has transformed his life. Since then he has devoted his time to specialising in observational watercolour painting. His artwork is strongly influenced by Middle Eastern and European styles.
